Life in Smoke Rise
The Smoke Rise community is predominantly home to young couples, families, and retirees from all over New Jersey and the rest the world. Let’s not forget our woodland neighbors too! It’s common to see all sorts of wildlife in Smoke Rise; from foxes, raccoons, and deer, to bald eagles, hawks and the occasional black bear.
Access the Outdoors
Smoke Rise includes approximately 2,500 acres with 100+ acres of common property to get outdoors and experience. Smoke Rise is surrounded by preserved park lands and watershed woodlands with numerous hiking trails. Kinnelon Borough has 11,985 acres in the Preservation Area and Silas Condict County Park is located along our eastern boundary.
Enjoying the Lake and Club Amenities
Our beautiful 108 acre recreational Lake Kinnelon features a large beach, swim lanes, lifeguard shack, snack stand, BBQ grills, volleyball nets, playground, horseshoe pits, basketball and bocce ball courts. There are electric boat docks as well as storage racks for sunfish sail boats, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Kids (and adults) love standing on the docks fishing the stocked lake for bass, perch, catfish, and sunfish.
Smoke Rise also features a Village Green which hosts a baseball and soccer field, play ground, basketball courts, tennis courts (10 in all) and a paddle ball court. Across the green are two beautiful horse riding rings where you can watch horse shows during the summer and fall, and down the road are stables.

Smoke Rise Village Inn
The Smoke Rise Inn is not only a fabulous place to have a delicious dinner, but also hosts many events for residents and non-residents such as Oktoberfest, an annual Holiday Cocktail Party, St. Patrick’s Day, and the annual Car Show. Residents and non-residents choose the Inn for their most important family events such as weddings, bat mitzvahs, christenings, communions, and showers.
